If you tested positive for Covid 19 or a close contact on or after 24 February 2022 you will no longer be eligible for a Support Payment
If you were told to self-isolate before 24 February 2022 you have 42 days from the first day of your self-isolation to make a claim.
Applications received after 6 April 2022 will not be considered for a Test and Trace Support Payment.
Self-Isolation Payments
If you have been told by the NHS to self-isolate or your child has and you have to take time off work to care for them you may be entitled to this payment.
People who are eligible will receive a one-off payment of £500. This payment will not affect any state benefits but should be declared to HMRC for tax purposes if you complete a self-assessment return.

Before you start
You will need the following information to complete your application:
- A copy of your latest bank statement and your bank statement prior to isolation
- A copy of your last monthly payslip or last 3 weekly payslips or your last 2 fortnightly payslips. We will contact you later regarding your loss of pay
- If you are self employed, proof of self-employment e.g. recent business bank statement (within the last two months), and invoices of work undertaken prior to self-isolating, most recent set of accounts or evidence of self-assessment returns;
- The notification that you have received from NHS Test and Trace to self-isolate
- Your National Insurance Number
- A copy of the Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC) where required for a child or young person who has to self-isolate
- A copy of the notification for the child or young person to self-isolate from their education or childcare setting
